By Car
Grafton is located in the New South Wales Northern Rivers region, just off the Pacific Highway. Recent upgrades to the highway have further improved driving conditions and have lessened the amount of time it takes to get to Grafton from major cities.
From Sydney to Grafton by car the journey takes about 7 hours 30 minutes. To drive from Brisbane to Grafton it takes around 4 hours 30 minutes.
Grafton also links to the Gwydir Highway, which is one of the primary East-West routes that runs through Eastern Australia.
By Bus
There is a direct coach service from Sydney to Grafton which takes about 9 hours.
By Train
The NSW TrainLink service between Sydney and Brisbane stops every day at South Grafton Railway Station. It takes around 10 hours to travel by train from Sydney to Grafton.

By Plane
Clarence Valley Regional Airport is located about a 15 minute drive from central Grafton. It has regular flights to and from Sydney and other destinations.
Flying time from Sydney to Grafton is approximately 1 hour.
By Ferry
If you would like to take the old-fashioned scenic route to Grafton across the Clarence River, you can catch the Lawrence Car Ferry, which connects the Pacific Highway at Ulmarra to the village of Lawrence just across the river. You can then continue your journey via road from the historic town of Lawrence on to Grafton.
Local Bus Services
Busways Grafton is the operator for local town routes. It also operates out-of-town routes to villages surrounding central Grafton including Junction Hill, Jackadgery / Cangai, Copmanhurst, Maclean and Yamba.
Lawrence Bus Service operates a shopper service, as well as a school service from Monday to Friday during school terms, to and from the neighbouring village of Lawrence.
Northern Rivers Buslines operates a service from Monday to Friday which travels to Lismore via Maclean, Evans Head and Coraki.
