Grafton's Neighbouring Coastal Towns
Discover the many beautiful beaches and quaint coastal towns that are just a short drive from Grafton NSW.
There are many picturesque coastal towns which are just a stonesthrow away from Grafton. Places such as Iluka and Yamba are situated at the mouth of the Clarence River, about a 30 to 45 minute drive from Grafton.
Iluka is located on the northern side of the Clarence River, next to the Iluka Nature Reserve. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests.
Yamba, famous for its prawns and awesome surfing beaches, is located on the southern side of the Clarence River. Yamba is a popular seaside destination for those who love beautiful beaches and fishing. Nearby Angourie Point is one of Australia’s National Surfing Reserves. Yamba is also a great spot if you like bushwalking or hiking, as you can follow the coast from there on a multi-day hike in the Yuraygir National Park.
A short distance south of Yamba is Wooli, a fishing village situated on a narrow peninsula. It is located between the Wooli River and the Solitary Islands Marine Park.
Brooms Head is another beautiful little beachside town which is located close to Maclean. It is a popular holiday spot with Grafton locals, especially at Easter and Christmas time.
